I have a Mac with a wifi system. I was *very* pleased to find that this camera is exceptionally easy to install (I don’t enjoy messing with DNS, IP addresses etc). Just plug the supplied Ethernet cable into the router and the camera. Go to your computer and browse to [...] . Describe the color of the lights on the camera and ba boom. Your hot and good to go.
I got the ‘echo’ model and the sound works great – even from 30 feet away speaking in a normal voice.
Also, the notification system (sending me an email with there is motion or sound) worked great; as did being able to see my camera on my iPhone AND iPad.
So far I can’t find anything I don’t like about this camera.

The set up is as easy as 1,2,3! And the quality is amazing. Even with low light in the room, you are able to still capture the video. There’s only a 2-3 second delay (live) and the sound is really good! I own a MacBook and iPhone 4 with the latest software of each as of the date of this review. I love the iPhone app this cam comes with! The main reason why I bought it in the first place. It’s pricey but well worth the money. I mainly use it to keep an eye on my dogs when I am not home. Contrary to what I may believe, they actually just sleep the whole time I’m gone lol… But it’s good to also keep an eye on my home when I am not there. The only two things I would change about this cam is 1. Allow multiple networks to be able to be saved in it- I stay at my own place and sometimes I stay at my parents and it’s annoying that I have to use an Ethernet to reconnect the network everytime. 2. I wish it did not have to be plugged into an adapter all the time and was able to be charged and relocated- even for a couple hours would have been nice. Oh and one last thing, wish the stand was a little more heavier because it seems too light and therefore making it feel fragile. This is also compatible with the clean Internet iSpot router. Although you need to connect to Ethernet and Connect to your iSpot that way first since iSpot routers do not have ethernet. Lastly, the pros are more than cons so I am not complaining! After trying every previous webcam on the market, I came across Dropcam, and let me tell you – look no further than this camera.
